Turning The Simple Home Office Into A Classy Guest Room
For many months now I have been trying to find a way of being able to use the room that is my home office as a guest bedroom as well.
Instead of the more heavy look of wood daybeds, I decided on one of the many metal daybeds which are now available in wide range of styles and designs as well as a range of finishes including brass.
I found the perfect one where I can relax while working in the evenings and that will suit the design of the study.
40 Winks For Me
Certainly the great thing about a metal daybed is that the structure is open and airy and since they also come in a variety of different colors, there is bound to be one that will suit the decor of any study or home office perfectly.
What it means to me is that in the future I can just walk away from the computer and go and lie down on the daybed and just grab a quick 40 winks if I need to.
A Room For The Guests
Plus now I know that when visitors come to stay I will have the space available to provide them with a comfortable sleeping area at night. No longer will they need to sleep on an air mattress on the living room floor.
As my study is very basic, I decided on a design which is not only extremely stylish but very simple in its design. It has a very contemporary look with flowing lines and the frame itself has been subtly outlined using scrolls. At the end of each post there is a round finial which completes the look.
And since I chose a daybed frame that is somewhat neutral, I can change daybed comforter sets, bedspreads, and linens whenever I feel the room needs a facelift. One year I might prefer the way the shabby chic daybed comforters look … and another year I might feel tropically inclined and switch to one of the many bright flowery Hawaii comforters for day bed ensembles.
